April 3rd, 2013

Easter has been here and gone.  Or has it?  Sure, the date on the calendar is past, and as far as the rest of the world is concerned they’ll think about Easter lilies, bunnies and egg hunts (bunnies lay eggs?), and fancy hats for next year, maybe.

The cross that held Jesus is empty.  The grave that held Jesus’ body has permanently lost its occupant.  Witnesses said the cloths that had been wrapped around the body and head were shown collapsed, instead of unwrapped, attesting to something unforeseen having happened.  Oh yeah, and the big rock that barred the door of the burial cave had been moved out of the way, not by the guards posted to watch it, nor by the women that came planning to prepare the body for long term burial.

This question was asked then and can be asked now:  “How come you’re looking for the living among the dead’?  (Luke 24:5)  He is risen!
