Rev. Dr. Bob Zurinsky | Senior Pastor

Bob was born and raised in West Seattle (and then Gig Harbor). He was originally planning for a career in medicine, and completed degrees in biology and biochemistry. After college, however, a fascination with Bible and theology took over, and he found himself in seminary at Regent College in Vancouver BC (with a little bit of Fuller Seminary and University of Oxford on the side). For 11 years before coming to Emmanuel Bob worked in university campus ministries, and during that period also completed the Doctor of Ministry degree at Drew Theological School in New Jersey. Bob is ordained to Word and Sacrament in The Evangelical Covenant Church, a small denomination based in Chicago that was originally founded by Swedish Lutheran immigrants. He is married to the remarkable Dr. Danielle Reaves Zurinsky, and together they adore their beautiful daughter Geneva and puppy Hazel. Bob loves cooking (not baking), caring for plants and nephews, and figuring out what it means to speak and live the Christian Story in the 21st century.
Gabe Martinez | Church Administrator

Gabe grew up in Central Washington, and studied Music at Seattle Pacific University. He comes to this role with a wide variety of experience in business consulting, church ministry, and the hospitality industry. In his spare time he enjoys playing drums, photography, soccer, collecting movies on VHS, and searching for a tasty bowl of ramen. Gabe is our primary contact for building tenants, and for all business and financial matters.

Em Weissman | Connection & Care Coordinator

Emily Weissman is a Seattle transplant, born and raised in sunny California. She has a B.A. from SPU and a Masters in Communication Management from USC. When she is not off organizing something, she enjoys corny dance movies, snail mail, and waffles. Victor Puentes Jr. | Facilities Manager

Victor lives on-site at Emmanuel and serves as our Facilities Manager – the first line of defense for maintenance and building issues. Victor was born in San Francisco and raised in Seattle before studying at The Berklee School of Music in Boston, and he is passionate about both music and community. He can be contacted for facilities questions through the email address above. To submit a formal maintenance request, tenants should contact the church office at admin@emmanuelphinneyridge.org so that requests can be assigned and tracked through our system.
Jansen Leggett | Worship Director

Jansen grew up in Richland WA on the dry side of the state. He attended Whitworth University in Spokane where he studied classical, jazz, and sacred music. He spends most of his free time cooking, hiking, and learning to play as many instruments as possible. Jansen works with Bob to plan Sunday worship services and coordinates the music at Emmanuel. Any musicians interested in joining the team on Sunday mornings should contact him!
Emma Heath | Kids Ministry C0-Coordinator

Emma grew up in Spokane WA where she attended Whitworth University and received a B.A. in Communication and Mass Media Studies. When she’s not working, Emma loves baking, enjoying the latest offerings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and reading good books snuggled up with her adorable cat Nico. As one of the two Coordinators for our children’s programs, Emma is responsible for connecting with the needs of our families throughout the week and preparing a safe, fun, and educational environment for younger kids on Sunday mornings. Cynthia Castle | Kids Ministry C0-Coordinator

Cynthia was raised in California and moved to Seattle in 2007. She has her BA in Global Development Studies from SPU and her Masters in Teaching from the UW. She has taught in many different environments including preschool, English in South Korea, and 4th and 5th grade classrooms. She presently works part-time as an Instructional Coach for student teachers. As the Kid’s Ministry Co-Coordinator, she works with Emma to develop programming for Emmanuel’s preschool-aged children. Cynthia lives in Shoreline with her husband Thomas, their rambunctious son Auden, and their super-soft cat Lucy. She loves mint tea, old-growth trees, and hanging with friends.
Charlie Martin | Church Janitor
Charlie grew up in Lake Villa, Illinois – a town located in northern Illinois about 60 miles north of Chicago. He studied at Northern Michigan University, where he received a bachelor’s of science. His full time job is at a Seattle-based petroleum company. In his free time he enjoy hiking, traveling, and collecting old VHS tapes!
