Counseling Center

At Emmanuel we hope to be an available resource to the people in our neighborhood and to serve our community with open hands. In keeping with this mission, several of our church members who are also licensed therapists are pleased to offer counseling services to members of the community (or to provide professional referrals to help you find your best counseling fit elsewhere). We are here to help individuals and families struggling with depression, adjusting to changes in life, parenting skills, communication issues, stress management, and other relational issues.

Our hope is to provide a safe place for you to process your situation and gain from additional resources. We want to serve in the most helpful and encouraging way possible, whether that be through direct one-on-one service or referral to a number of specialists that we know in the area. Our hope is that you will encounter change and healing through our services and your own introspective journey.

Everyday issues affect us as individuals in multiple ways: physically, mentally, inter-personally, and spiritually. We are open to discussing any aspect of your life and hope to do so in a respectful and honest way. Although our counselors are affiliated with Emmanuel Church, most do not operate from a “Christian Counseling” or “Bible-Based” approach to therapy, as some other Christian organizations do. Each of our trained therapists is open to exploring areas of spirituality and religion but will only do so at the request and the permission of the client as it seems helpful to the overall process of therapy. The job of the counselor is not to implant a set of values upon you as a client, but instead to listen and help craft your story into the narrative you want.

Our affiliated therapists genuinely desire to serve a broad range of people with different incomes. In an attempt to meet those needs for each unique situation, payment will be discussed on a case-by-case basis between the client and the therapist.
