The Height of Summer

The Height of Summer

Aug 5, 2013 | Posted by Emmanuel | Announcements |

At the corner of our busy block between the hot sidewalk and the waving trees, the tomatoes in our Community Garden are beginning to turn different shades of orange and red. Soon our zucchini will be juicy enough to eat and our peppers large enough to share and we are excited to give the bounty to our neighbors and friends. As our calenders turn to August, the height Seattle’s summer, we can see other projects in our church coming to their full potential as well. The cafe within our building, Port and Anchor, has begun buying it’s coffee, stacking it’s coffee cups and is getting ready to be an active part of our community center. Just as it is joyous to watch the fruits of our garden ripen into something delicious, it is exciting to have the full flourishing of our ideas and efforts in sight!

If you are interesting in getting involved with Port and Anchor, and want to exercise your barista skills or just have a question, please contact Josh at josh@emmanuelphinneyridge.org
