The Coghill Memorial Scholarship honors the life-long service of Ernie and Ellen Coghill to Emmanuel Bible Church. The Coghills were active members of Emmanuel from the 1950s into the 1980s. Ellen was in charge of the church kitchen while Ernie served as a church trustee. While Ernie and Ellen had no children of their own, they had a heart for children. The Coghill Scholarship was established to assist committed young adults with their education.
Scholarships are available to students actively involved in the Emmanuel Church community who are enrolled in either undergraduate or graduate degree programs. Scholarship amounts are determined depending on financial need and fund availability. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a four-point scale) to qualify for this award. The application process is intended to help you demonstrate eligibility and to describe how a Coghill scholarship would aid you in your education and help you pursue God’s kingdom in your life and vocation.
According to the wishes of the Coghill family at the time of their endowment, this program is administered by Scholarship Trustees working in conjunction with the staff and Leadership Team of Emmanuel. The current Coghill Scholarship Trustees are: Richard Burgi and Marilynn Savage Moritz.
The Coghill application cycle is currently closed for this year. For questions, or to inquire about future scholarship cycles, contact admin@emmanuelphinneyridge.org.
