Emilee Morehouse: Communications/Social Media Intern
Aside from the introduction above, I’m here to tell you all about my role as the Communications/Social Media intern here at Emmanuel! Yay!
My first time at Emmanuel was back in June and my second time I was snagged for this position. Which, looking back, I’m so thankful for! When I first came to Emmanuel, I immediately fell in love with the pure transparent longing to do God’s will. I loved (and still love) the simplicity of worshiping to worship, not to put on a show with lights and whistles. If you’ve talked to me about my time at Emmanuel, you’ve probably heard my rant (I’ve been told I talk a lot) that I feel like I’m the most blessed person in the world.
Our resources might be less than extravagant, our building may need more TLC than the average congregation could supply in a lifetime and our generational differences may vary, but when I look at us, I see God’s people, inspired. Laughter breaking down walls. People serving first and asking why later.
I think that’s the biggest thing I’ve learned over the past few months. When God’s people…
Pray
Laugh
Trust
Build
Learn
Listen
Hope
‘… all these things will be added unto you.’ (Luke 12:31)
You all are beautiful, and I’m honored to be a part this congregation.
So, a little about my position here:
I am in charge of our newsletter The Trumpet, Facebook, Twitter and (NEW!) our Intern Blog. As a Communications/Journalism SPU grad, this is something I’ve always been passionate about and love that I’m able to now use the things I’ve learned, in my internship role at Emmanuel.
We have some awesome vision for where we want each of these outreaches to go. Small changes have already begun and I’m so excited for the future! Keep an eye out for a new look for The Trumpet, weekly updates from our awesome interns on our blog, and other little changes on our Facebook and Twitter.
Once again, thank you all for welcoming me into your family. I honestly think I have a team better than I could have hoped for and a community more loving than I could have imagined.
