Interning At Emmanuel

May 3, 2013 | Posted by Emmanuel | Intern Blog |

As I am winding down my internship here, and beginning a new journey as a member of the leadership team at Emmanuel, I wanted to extend some thanks and shamelessly plug the intern program here. Working under Josh and Aaron’s leadership has been a great situation in terms of personal, professional, and spiritual development. One of the major bonuses of being an intern here is the immense amount of personal support given.

Personally, the structure of the program allows for there to be at least one meeting a month where the whole staff just hangs out and spends time together. This allows for much more respect as a team and a deeper understanding of each other’s personal lives. Thinking spiritually this time of fellowship allows you to be known by the group outside of the role you have been given in the internship program.

Professionally, there is also a monthly time of development where a speaker in a relevant field is brought in to teach the team. In the past there have been leadership consultants, financial advisors, and church planters. This added benefit allows for you to always be learning as an intern on a variety of issues.

Spiritually, there is a monthly time dedicated to worship. What I have loved about this time is how unique it is every time; from singing worship songs together to taking communion and praying with one another it is always a time where we feel very connected as a group and can ground ourselves in the reason why we are here.

I highly encourage anyone who is interested to inquire about an internship. I am incredibly thankful for my time spent here in this role, and I hope to continue to interact with the internship program as I serve at Emmanuel.
