weekly wandering

Jan 5, 2012 | Posted by Emmanuel | Weekly Wanderings |

January 5, 2012

Well, with all the Christmas and New Year goings on, I have certainly shot down my promise to wander “weekly”, so…I’ll have to get back on a schedule of sorts.

A pastor friend of mine sent me a story about how to capture wild pigs. Basically, it suggests putting feed in a logical location and when the pigs get used to finding the food, put up a fence, one side at a time so they get used to it being in place, then finally close a gate around them as they are eating what is provided. Then it’s too late to escape. This story was related to politics, HOWEVER…

The Adversary can do a pretty slick job of fencing us off from reading God’s word and praying on a daily basis. It could be as simple as watching the news at a time we usually get into God’s word; it could be getting caught up in a good book when we should be caught up in reading God’s love letter to us. Are we letting the world feed us, and with what kind of fences are we letting ourselves be surrounded? Is the gate already closing ?

We buy anti-virus and anti-malware programs to keep our computers free of problems…God has made his own anti-virus and anti-malware available to keep our “heart” drives operating properly.

Psalm 119:105
