Home Weekly Wanderings

May 2, 2012 | Posted by Emmanuel | Weekly Wanderings |

May 2nd, 2012

Did you ever wonder why some weeks seem to weigh ten tons and others are light and breezy?  Me, too.  And no, I don’t have the answer.  When things don’t go the way I want them to, I have to ask, was it something I did?  If it was something I did, was the consequence what I expected?  Can I correct the result?  Will that bring about a change that makes it better?  Was it something beyond my control?  Will my worrying make a change?  If it won’t change anything, will my worrying improve my attitude?

In any event, the Apostle Paul provides a guideline for an attitude adjustment. “ Don’t let your mind become a race track of worry for stuff that you should put in God’s hands, give your concern to him with grateful thanks, and God’s peace, which is far beyond understanding, will mount guard over your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus”.  (loose paraphrase of Philippians 4:6 & 7).

Fast forward to a pragmatic problem:  the church library has downsized, both in book quantity and physical size.  There isn’t room in the new space for the ancient desktop computer and bulky monitor we’ve been using.  IF anyone is willing, or has a burden to donate a laptop (new or used) to use for the library catalog and lending function, we would be delighted and grateful.  Contact Norm, or Aaron, or Josh.

Grazie, danke schoen, obrigato, merci, thank you.
