January 30th, 2013

Do you realize we are already a month into the new year?  Maybe it isn’t so new anymore.  New Year’s Resolutions have probably been broken and replaced or totally ignored.  Maybe they weren’t appropriate anyway.  Plans and promises will, more than likely, have to be re-examined.

One I have to review constantly is maintaining my daily discussion with Jesus. Too often I rush into his presence, skid to a halt and drop into my chair, puffing out my excuse for forgetting the time, or worse, the day.

What’s so important that I can’t invest a few minutes in the morning for a “Good Morning” and a moment to review his plans for my day?  Was my email more important, or the newspaper, or breakfast?   Morning is prominent throughout the Bible as a time for giving praise to God or seeking his direction.  Simply, putting him first.  Then doing what he instructs me to do.

My challenge?  Being consistent.

What’s your challenge?  Is it a relationship?  Is it that other things assume primary importance?

Matt 6:33

Oh!  My other resolution?  Eat less, workout more.
